Hello loves! Sooo…today’s post is going to be a little different from the topics that I normally write about. This post (that I worked really hard on!) is on the zodiac signs. I have been really interested in them lately and I thought it would be kind of fun to create a post on them.
Recently at Urban Outfitters, I bought this book: UNEXPLAINED ZODIAC by Sasha Fenton
I read through it and it is great if you are interested in learning more about the zodiac signs. In my reading and studying, I have found that the zodiac is really helpful for understanding your personality, future, and life, and it is scary accurate for the most part!
What IS the zodiac? Another word for zodiac signs are sun signs, and sun signs show the positions of the planets at birth and are able to give the basis of character, aptitudes, and destiny (Fenton, 4). Below I will list the sun signs with their corresponding dates:
Aries (Gender: Masc) (Element: Fire) (Quality: Cardinal) –> March 21 – April 19
Taurus (Gender: Fem) (Element: Earth) (Quality: Fixed) –> April 20 – May 20
Gemini (Gender: Masc) (Element: Air) (Quality: Mutable) –> May 21 – June 21
Cancer (Gender: Fem) (Element: Water) (Quality: Cardinal) –> June 22 – July 22
Leo (Gender: Masc) (Element: Fire) (Quality: Fixed) –> July 23 – August 22
Virgo (Gender: Fem) (Element: Earth) (Quality: Mutable) –> August 23 – September 22
Libra (Gender: Masc) (Element: Air) (Quality: Cardinal) –> September 23 – October
Scorpio (Gender: Fem) (Element: Water) (Quality: Fixed) –> October 23 – November 21
Sagittarius (Gender: Masc) (Element: Fire) (Quality: Mutable) –> November 22 – December 21
Capricorn (Gender: Fem) (Element: Earth) (Quality: Cardinal) –> December 22 – January 20
Aquarius (Gender: Masc) (Element: Air) (Quality: Fixed) –> January 21 – February 18
Pisces (Gender: Fem) (Element: Water) (Quality: Mutable) –> Feb 19 – March 20
In order to prevent this post from being terribly long, I will list a few facts about each zodiac sign, and talk a little bit more about Libra, seeing as that is my own sign. Enjoy!
Aries: intelligent, impulsive, very quick to take action. They are also known for being courageous and honest. Aries apparently loves politics and really like to be ‘in the know.’ They are sociable.
Taurus: steady and reliable. They supposedly tend to be great cooks, gardeners, and artists who are wonderful with home decorating. They are sociable, uncritical, and genuinely appreciative.
Gemini: restless, generous, friendly, flirty. They are intelligent and quick minded and are supposedly heavily into family life.
Cancer: home-loving, emotional, softhearted, protective, intuitive. They are efficient and effective, especially when inspired, as well as diplomatic.
Leo: shy, high standards, honest, reliable. They are known to be organized, business like, and fair.
Virgo: quiet, modest, clever. They are supposedly very dedicated to their careers, devoted to the service of others, and enjoy social gatherings.
LIBRA: Libra is my zodiac sign, so I will go into a little more detail on this sun sign. From all of the reading that I have done, the Libra sign is pretty accurate in matching up with my personality and lifestyle.
The Libra is associated with love, partnership, harmony, togetherness, sweetness, and gentleness. HOWEVER, since Libra is a cardinal air sign, it is able to take charge of situations and do things fairly quickly, while simultaneously “standing back, debating, theorizing, and looking at everything from all sides” (Fenton, 103); in essence: driving people crazy. Librans tend to be good company and very good listeners. This aspect can really relate to me because I am not the best talker, but I love to listen and be there for others in that way. Librans are also known to be responsible, hardworking and pleasant. All of this set aside, a Libra can also be a total nightmare. The two scales allow them to be enjoyable when they want to be, or moody when they do not. According to Sasha Fenton, Libra’s rarely work alone, but can live alone quite comfortably as long as they have interests, activities, and friends.
Interesting Libra Fact: Libras are not fans of team sports – which is totally me! They prefer sports such as squash or tennis because they are one-on-one games. For me, I love skiing, sailing, running, dancing, and playing tennis…all of which are more individual sports.
Scorpio: thorough, do things quickly, efficient and effective. Scorpios supposedly love animals, go through life almost as a race and hate for others to be in control of them.
Sagittarius: explorer, spiritual. They seek freedom and are very practical and capable.
Capricorn: hardworking, ambitious, dependable. They tend to be reliable and intelligent people who dislike being lazy or wasting time. According to Fenton, they also really love to travel.
Aquarius: inventive, original, and determined. They have independent minds and strong views of the world. They are known to be generous with their knowledge and make great teachers.
Pisces: gentle, spiritual, religious, moody. Pisces contain an element of chaos in their lives. It is considered to be a mystical sign.
This is about the end of my post! I hope this was an interesting or helpful read for you guys. The information that I shared is not even a quarter of the information that can be found in the book UNEXPLAINED ZODIAC. In this book, for each sign Fenton includes Myths about the sign, Realities about the sign, Looks, Careers, Body and Health and more! I recommend it if you are interested in learning more about your zodiac sign or the sign’s of others.
Tell me: what is your zodiac sign? Do you think your sign accurately depicts your personality? If you are into the signs, do you have a favorite? I would love to hear from you and receive feedback on this post!
